Are you interested in knowing your blood type? If so, Life Extension® offers the Blood Type test. A blood type (also called a blood group) is a classification of blood based on the presence or absence of inherited proteins on the surface of red blood cells. Some of these proteins are also present on the surface of other types of cells of various tissues. Many pregnant women have a different blood type from their baby, and the mother can form antibodies against the baby’s red blood cells. These antibodies can cross the placenta and cause harm to the baby. The possible blood types are: O positive, O negative, A positive, A negative, B positive, B negative, AB positive and AB negative. Type O negative is a universal donor and AB positive is a universal recipient. Instructions Fasting is not required for this test. Take all medications as prescribed. |
