However, research has demonstrated that about 25% of individuals are resistant to the beneficial effect of aspirin. And if you’re aspirin-resistant, taking it daily has no effect whatsoever on your risk of a cardiac event. In fact, individuals that are aspirin-resistant are over three times more likely to die from a heart attack or stroke. Instructions Fasting is not required for this test. Take all medications as prescribed. This test requires the collection of a simple random urine sample which measures thromboxane, the target of aspirin therapy. Urine that is voided first thing in the morning is recommended as the sample, but not required. |
